CNC Machinist – Miller

We are currently recruiting an experienced CNC Machinist (Miller) to join a busy engineering and manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will have experience programming, setting and operating CNC Vertical Machining Centres, ideally using HAAS and XYZ machines. Experience using CAD/CAM software and machine control systems is essential.

Experience with the Mazak Integrex range would also be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate CNC milling machines, primarily Vertical Machining Centres.
• Use HAAS and XYZ machine controls.
• Utilise CAD/CAM software to support machining operations.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Select appropriate tooling, materials and machining methods.
• Carry out precision machining to required tolerances.
• Monitor machine performance and maintain consistent quality standards.
• Inspect completed components using appropriate measuring equipment.
• Identify and resolve machining, tooling and equipment issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller.
• Strong programming, setting and operating experience.
• Experience with HAAS and/or XYZ Vertical Machining Centres.
• Competent in interpreting engineering drawings.
• Good knowledge of tooling, machining techniques and cutting parameters.
• Experience using CAD/CAM software.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks would be advantageous.
• Previous experience with Mazak Integrex machines would be beneficial.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
